Spain has a long and fascinating history that stretches back to ancient times. The country has been inhabited by many different peoples over the centuries, including the Iberians, Romans, Visigoths, and Moors.

One significant period in Spain’s history is the Middle Ages, when the country was ruled by the Moors, who brought with them a rich and vibrant culture that greatly influenced Spanish art, architecture, and literature. During this time, many of Spain’s most famous landmarks were built, including the Alhambra palace in Granada and the Mezquita in Cordoba.

In the late 15th century, Spain began its exploration and colonization of the New World, leading to the establishment of a vast overseas empire. This period also saw the rise of Spanish art and literature, with notable figures such as Miguel de Cervantes and El Greco achieving international fame.

In the 19th and 20th centuries, Spain was beset by political turmoil, including a civil war and dictatorship. However, the country has since transitioned to a democratic government and has become a major European power. Today, Spain is known for its vibrant culture, beautiful landscapes, and rich history.
