A percentage is a number or ratio expressed as a fraction of 100. It is often denoted using the percent sign, "%", or sometimes as "pct." For example, 35% is equal to the decimal 0.35, or the fraction 35/100.
To calculate a percentage, multiply the decimal by 100, or divide the fraction by its denominator and multiply by 100:
35% = 0.35 * 100 = 35/100 * 100 = 3.5 * 10
35% = 35/100 = 0.35
35% = 35/100 = 7/20 (reduced)
0.35 = 0.35 * 100 = 35%
0.35 = 3.5 / 10^-1 (move decimal point two places to the left) = 7/20 (reduced)
